In my work I play with the unknowingness and uncertainty of visual "reality"; the way the eye will see something and the brain will interpret it according to a vast amount of stored knowledge and beliefs. Often, as individuals, we come to different conclusions. I am also curious about how the eye and the mind work together to make selective memories and connections. My paintings are composed of pieces or elements of city and landscape. I juxtapose atmosphere, light, color, shape and texture in ways that can be literal, conceptual or even abstract. On the other hand, sometimes the intent is to create a sense of traditional landscape harmony though I am using disparate images.
